Sowing calendar: when to sow and plant what?
Choose your plants and your climate. You instantly get a personal year planner, a checklist to tick off and a calendar file with reminders. Free, no sign-up, no banner ads. Your selection stays in your browser.
Note: The dates apply to Central Europe (e.g. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, Poland, northern France). In warmer regions such as the Mediterranean, many dates come earlier; in Scandinavia or at high altitude, later. Use “Climate” and “Last frost” to adjust the calendar.
How to use the calendar
- Choose your climate: in mild areas the season starts about two weeks earlier, in cool areas later. Autumn sowings such as lamb’s lettuce shift the other way.
- Tick your plants or pick a starter set. The calendar updates immediately.
- Print it or download the calendar file. It works with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook, so your phone reminds you of every task.

Frequently asked questions
Does the calendar work for my country?
It uses typical ranges for Central Europe. With “Climate” and “Last frost” you can adapt it to your area. In the end, soil and air temperature decide – never sow into cold, wet soil.
When can tomatoes go outside?
Frost-tender plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes or basil are usually planted out after the last frosts – in Central Europe that is after mid-May. More under Last frost.
Is my data stored?
No. The calendar calculates in your browser. Only if you press “Remember on this device” does your browser keep the selection locally.
